In My Mind
In my mind, I do find That thoughts are all a jumble Breathing calm, relaxing palms Clenched teeth and jaw released
My thoughts start to wonder To star fields and yonder Great battles in my mind
Is that Jesus? Socrates? Tolstoy? Or just a bit of dirt in my eye? Like night casting out the day They have nothing more to say
Alien worlds, lustful thoughts Dead men walking It’s all just talking They make sure they get their say
Sunrise, sunset The moon arising Venus bedazzling Jupiter maddening Mars preparing once again To shed the blood of ghosts and men
Quantum realities within our grasp It’s all plainly written there It’s all just Math Einstein and Hawking rolled the dice Through a black hole – a 6 and a 9 God said “Nice!”
But as history tells Time shrinks and swells History repeats itself Until it forgets History repeats itself Until it forgets Until it forgets
Just then, a thought And then it’s
gone…
